DEPORTES TELEVISA CAMERA & REPORTERS
Here I will try to explain the myth and legend that surrounds perhaps the rarest MicroStars figure ever, and rather obscurely it is not even a player, it is in fact a TV Camera!

Corinthian released series of MicroStars in Mexico, these were done in association with Deportes, who are a broadcasting company based in Mexico. Mexico Series 1 saw 4 Deportes Reporters released, those 4 being Javier Alarcon Gonzalez, Raul Oravananos Marin, Enrique Bermudez De La Serna 'Perro' and Antonio De Valdes Franco 'Tono' with all 4 being released solely on a Green base.

Mexico Series 2 saw a further 4 Deportes Reporters released, these 4 being Ricardo Pelaez, Alberto Garcia Aspe, Miguel Gurwitz and Raul Sarmiento, again all 4 were released only on a Green base. The same 4 were also released again as part of Mexico Series 4, with Aspe being by far the rarest of all the 8 Deportes Reporters, completing the set is no easy task!

So we come to the now legendary and infamous MC3876 Deportes Televisa Camera! Over the years there have been numerous rumours as to how this figure may have been released, some claim it was sent along with the Mexico Series in store display and taped to the under side of the box and possibly thrown away without stockists realising, others have claimed they were visible on store counters as promotional pieces, other deny it's existence all together.

There is no mention of the Televisa Camera anywhere on Mexico Series 1 box, CDU or collector's information leaflet, I feel had this been some sort of chaser figure for the series and issued for general release then there would have been some mention of it, to drive sales, as any marketing team would have heavily mentioned the lure of chasing a rare and exclusive item.

So my personal feeling is that the Camera was never part of a released series, and never available for direct sale, so for that reason I don't think it can be included as part of 'the collection'
My feelings has remained the same all these years, which is that a very small number of the Televisa Camera were produced for marketing purposes, some may very well have been on display in stores to promote the range, whatever the case is I doubt we will ever know now with utter surety, however what does remain is the fact the Deportes Televisa Camera is an incredibly rare MicroStars figure, and one which is coveted by each and every MicroStars collector!
