SVENSKA LANDSLAGET

Corinthian released a series of Sweden national kit figures in May 2008, and the first thing i need to detail is the name of this series.​

For a long time this has been referred to as Sweden Series 17, however that is not accurate, as the information on the official Sweden MicroStars website had the listing of Sweden Series 17 being effectively UK Series 16 with those 8 figures from the Convention 2008 specials added, so for a long time that particular series was called 'Norway Series 1' when in actuality it is Sweden Series 17, it was just primarily sold in Norway.

This series of Sweden national kit figures is actually called Svenska Landslaget, this name features on the box and the collector's information leaflet, there is absolutely no reference at all to it being Sweden Series 17.

As for the figures themselves, Svenska Landslaget consists of 24 different figures, 16 are in Sweden home kit, 7 away kit and the final figure is the manager Lars Largerback, which even has him sculpted wearing glasses.

As you might expect, these figures can be quite hard to find, the most sought after is indeed Zlatan Ibrahimovic in both home and away kit, closely followed by Fredrik Ljungberg in both kits.

A superb set of figures, as it gave us numerous sculpts that would never be released again. As it would transpire, this would be the final Sweden Series which was released by Corinthian.

The figures were released in single mystery boxes, the same style as the ones used for the Japan Miniatures. Each mystery box contained one randomly packed MicroStars figure, which could be on one of the seven base colours, which are Green, Red, Blue, White, Silver, Gold and Black

A collectors information leaflet also came issued with the figures which detailed those available in the series, with the text being in Swedish. The official distributor for the series was once again Evanoff & Nilemo AB.
