JAPAN MINIATURES SERIES 8

Japan Miniatures Series 8 followed in the footsteps of Miniatures Series 4 in the fact it was an all Italy Serie A release, complete with the packaging in the Italy national flag colours, with all MC codes being exclusive to this series.

There are 31 figures in Miniatures Series 8, with Corinthian releasing a normal and an extension version. 28 figures feature in both versions, the normal chaser figure is Javier Zanetti in Inter Milan away kit, with the Extension Chaser being Vincenzo Montella in Roma away kit.​

The final figure is by far the rarest of them all and one of the hardest to find figures in the

entire Miniatures series, which is Francesco Totti in Roma away kit. This image of this figure incorrectly features as a regular figure on the collector's information leaflet, it should in fact be the home kit version of Totti.

 

 

Neither leaflet actually mentions the existence of the away kit so i am unsure as to how it was actually classified, what is more perplexing is how the MC codes do not actually follow on in sequence with the rest of the series, so my assumption is that is was a special edition used in both releases but in extremely low numbers.

Although this is an all Serie A release, there are only 6 clubs featured, Cagliari have one, Inter Milan 5, Juventus 6, Lazio 3, AC Milan 8 and Roma also have 8. A few interesting things to note from this series is that it features the only MicroStars of Francesco Coco, Mauro Camoranesi and Christian Panucci, they were not released by Corinthian as a MicroStars figure in any other series or release.

The goal keeper figures of Chritian Abbiati and Angelo Peruzzi are unique in appearance and MC code, however this was the only time they appeared in a regular MicroStars Series, with their initial releases seeing Peruzzi being released in the MicroDome on a Gold base and Abbiati featured in the UK PowerShot Version 2 on Green and Gold.

The figures were released in single mystery boxes, each mystery box contained one randomly packed MicroStars figure, which could be on one of the six base colours, which are Green, Red, Blue, White, Silver and Gold. The extension edition also had it's own single box, which featured the Extension branding across it.

A collectors information leaflet also came issued with the figures which detailed those available in the series, with the text being in Japanese, with an updated version also being included in the Extension edition. The boxes were released inside a CDU (Counter Display Unit) , with the distributor for the series being New Wave, who's store was called Foot Circle.
