ITALY SERIES 1

Corinthian once again collaborated with Italian toy manufacturer and distributor Giochi Preziosi, who Corinthian had previously worked with on the Headliners SuperStars range

MicroStars Italy Series 1 consists of 40 different figures, 37 were of players from Italy's Serie A, the remaining 3 were all from Barcelona, with 12 out of the 20 Serie A clubs represented in this series. All MC codes are unique to this series and were not used in any other MicroStars Series.​

The figures were released in 2 different packaging formats, the most commonly found was the single mystery box, these were the same style as the ones used for the Japan Miniatures. Each mystery box contained one randomly packed MicroStars figure, which could be on one of the six base colours, which are Green, Red, Blue, White, Silver and Gold.

A collectors information leaflet also came issued with the figures which detailed those available in the series, with the text being in Italian. The boxes were released inside a CDU (Counter Display Unit) with 18 boxes per CDU, with the distributor for the series being Giochi Preziosi.

There was also a secret sachet release, which featured 12 of the figures, this release was much more scarce and was sold at newsstands, while the single box version was distributed much more widely and available  in toy stores.

The 12 figures which were included in the secret sachet release are Gattuso, Figo, Ibrahimovic, Dida, Di Canio, Fiore, Zanetti, Trezeguet, Totti, Kaka, Materazzi and Zambrotta. A small fanbuk came issued with the figure, which detailed the range. The figures were sold in a CDU, with 12 sachets being included with each CDU and there was no duplication, each CDU contained a full set of 12 figures.

By far the rarest 2 from this series are Deco and Eto'o, very seldom do they appear and I can only assume they were produced in much lower volume than the other figures.
