WOOLWORTHS SPECIAL

One of Corinthian's largest stockists of MicroStars was WOOLWORTHS, which was a large  store, with branches all over the UK.

WOOLWORTHS always had the latest MicroStars releases and a large representation of them in their confectionary section, so it was no surprise to see Corinthian produce a special figure purely for the store.

​

To play the MicroStars World Club League Game required a goal keeper, so Corinthian wanted to ensure every collector had a keeper in their collection in order to play the game. Edwin Van Der Sar in The Netherlands home kit was the player chosen as the WOOLWORTHS special.

To obtain a Van Der Sar figure, all you had to do was purchase 3 Powerpodz from WOOLWORTHS then send the Powerpodz foil wrapper along with your till receipt to Corinthian and in return they would send you the exclusive Van Der Sar figure!

Van Der Sar was only produced on a Green base, however he does carry 12 different MC codes, the reason for this is to do with the base ratings as used in the World Club League game (WCL)
