MICRO DOME MANAGERS EDITION

MicroStars figures came with player ratings under the base which were used when playig the World Club League (WCL) game. Corinthian were constantly asked to produce some form of display stand for their figures, Corinthian combined the need for a display stand with their WCL game and the MicroDome was born.

The Corinthian MicroStars MicroDome is a carry case which opens up to reveal a pitch with markings for playing the WCL, along with some stands to display the figures, as if they were a crowd watching the game.

​

The MicroDome was a very popular item with collector's, it's only drawback was that it is very heavy which largely prevented collectors outside the UK for acquiring one, unless they were prepared to pay the high shipping costs.

Included with the Micro Dome were 11 figures on a Gold base, 5 of which had previously only been released in Japan as part of the Miniatures Series, those being Seedorf for AC Milan who was in Miniatures Series 4, Del Piero for Juvents, Diego Forlan for Manchester United, Lauren for Arsenal and Joe Cole for Chelsea, all featured in Miniatures Series 5.

Ronaldinho in Barcelona away kit was exclusive to this version of the Micro Dome, as were the 2 goal keeper figures of Gianluigi Buffon for Juventus and Francesco Toldo for Inter Milan, with the 2 keepers having 4 different MC codes.

The final 3 are superb figures, as Corinthian treated us to 3 manager sculpts! This was the first release of Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger as MicroStars, there only other release would be in Sweden Series 16. Celtic manager Martin O'Neil would never again be released as a MicroStars figure.

Customers who purchased the Corinthian MicroStars Micro Dome Managers Edition from Argos found a leaflet inside the box which allowed them to claim the exclusive figure of referee Pierluigi Collina!

 

 

This was initially exclusive to Argos as a redemption figure, but later on he was given away free by Corinthian for purchasing other products, however he was never available for direct purchase.

This was the second version of the Micro Dome, which was called Micro Dome Managers Edition and was released in 2004 with an original retail price of £34.99, and was available from Corinthian Direct and other select retailers and resellers.
