LATIN AMERICA SERIES 2

This series is one who's mere existence was for a long time a hot topic of debate amongst collector's, with the general consensus being that it was never released, however​ this mystery was solved around 2019 when the 4 exclusive figures emerged.

Latin America Series 2 consists of 20 figures, 16 of which are in Mexico Series 4 with the MC codes being identical, however there are 4 figures in this series who's MC codes are unique, those 4 are Pablo Aimar in Argentina Home kit, the other 3 are in Mexico away kits, Jared Borgetti, Cuauhtemoc Blanco and goal keeper Oswaldo Sanchez.

Appearance wise the boxed and CDU look almost identical to those of Mexico Series 4, hence why I feel their release was either over looked or simply not properly recognised.

The name also needs some explanation, it has been classified as Latin America Series 2, reason being is that it was sold and distributed throughout Latin America, with some often mistaking these countries for having their own separate series, when the truth is this series was distributed to them all.

Here are the countries Latin America Series 2 were sold in, along with the name of the distributor for that country:

Mexico - J.JP&R International 

Chile - Johnson's

El Salvador - Codinter

Guatemala - Promo

Ecuador - Lunatics

Argentina - GEM Group SRL

Mexico is listed as an import country, however given how it is identical to Mexico Series 4 i do not believe the series were sold and distributed in Mexico, o feel they were only used to import and then distribute the figures to those other 5 countries.

The figures were released in single mystery boxes, the same style as the ones used for the Mexican Series. Each mystery box contained one randomly packed MicroStars figure, which could be on one of the seven base colours, which are Green, Red, Blue, White, Silver, Gold and Black, and came with a piece of chewing gum.

A collectors information leaflet also came issued with the figures which detailed those available in the series, with the text being in Spanish. The boxes were released inside a CDU (Counter Display Unit) with 18 boxes per CDU.
