Corinthian figures were immensely popular in the far east, especially in Japan, with the early 2000's seeing the market substantially increase and thrive, with demand for figures being at it's peak during this period.

Corinthian's official partner and distributor in Japan was New Wave; who's store was called Foot Circle, requested to have their own series of MicroStars, the name given to the Japanese range would be Miniatures.

In total there are 16 series of Japan Miniatures, with some series being a copy of their UK counterparts, while others were made up entirely of new and exclusive figures. The Japan Miniatures Series gave collector's so many superb figures and it is from these series that some of the truly rare figures come from.

The figures were released in single sealed mystery boxes, sold in a CDU (Counter Display Unit) with each series often having a regular release and an extension version, with the series quite often featuring a Chaser figure, which was a very limited figure done in much smaller numbers than the regular series figures.

In addition to the 16 Miniatures Series, there were also some Lucky Boxes produced, the most infamous of which contained Roberto Baggio, who was quite simply an idol in Japan, given the nickname of 'The Divine Ponytail' with these Baggio's being amongst the rarest and most sought after figures in the entire MicroStars range.
