CORINTHIAN CONVENTION
SPECIALS 2008

Corinthian once again planned to hold their annual Convention at Villa Park, however due to issues this had to be cancelled, instead the product which was to be exclusive to the convention was made available online, via the Corinthian online store.​

The set of 8 Convention 2008 specials were all on a Gold base, however it needs to be stated the figures were also released as part of Sweden Series 17 (previously referred to as Norway Series 1), with identical MC codes, with Kaka also featuring in Italy Series 2. 

 

 

Those 8 are Kaka and Cafu in AC Milan home kit, with Esteban Cambiasso in Inter Milan centenary away kit.​

Spain's La Liga was represented by 3 Barcelona players, Silvinho and Rafael Marquez in home kit, with Ronaldinho in away kit for the Catalan giants.

The final 2 are from the English Premier League, with Gilberto in Arsenal home kit, with Manchester United represented by Carlos Tevez in away kit.

A superb set of 8 figures, and it was certainly easier for collectors to pick up the set this way than try to source them from the Sweden Series which was primarily released in Norway.

 

 

A final observation is that this same set of 8 players were used by Corinthian for the Match magazine 2007 specials, but in their respective national home kits.
